Yes, I am short after all
NBA coach Phil Jackson came to my show last night. After the show was over, we took a couple of photos. I look like a shrimp. Fact is, he is 6 feet 8 inches tall. He has a great sense of humor, and is a cool guy.
The next night, Phil Jackson was in the Meadowlands for the Lakers / Nets game. The Lakers had an amazing game, beating the Nets 103 to 84. I can’t take any credit for that. Kobe Bryant made some terrific plays, scoring 29 points, and the Lakers had a big comeback in the second half.
Everyone looks short next to Phil.
Phil Jackson was great – after the show he asked me to go over some of my secrets. He wanted to deconstruct how I accomplished parts of the show. I looked up at him (waaay up), and said, “Coach, after a game, I’d never ask you to show me your playbook!” He respected that, and didn’t push any further.
Hey Steve. I saw your 9:00 show on Saturday, January 30th. (yesterday). Not sure if you remember me, I’m the kid who was in the last row, who bought your book. Loving it so far, and I am truly inspired by you. I do small card tricks and sleights of hand, but you brought it to a whole new playing field.
GeneralJJ – thank you for your note. I remember you at my late show last weekend. Best of luck with your magic. Allow me to recommend a series of books about card magic that you may find fascinating: Card College (5 volumes) by Roberto Giobbi. Start with volume 1, and work your way through it before buying volume 2.
Good luck with your magic.
